tampakrap

My name is Theo Chatzimichos. I am an undergraduate student at the department of Computer Science and Telecommunications, Technical Educational Institute of Larissa, Greece.

My main interests include computers and technology, linux, movies and Hip Hop music. In this blog you’ll see articles about computers, rap albums, and my various contributions to linux projects

My main linux contibutions are the following:

  • my college’s Linux Team. This team was founded in April 2007, with me being one of the original members. We have been promoting linux to our colleagues, to our teachers and to the School in general very actively. We have organized many install fests and conferences about various topics plus other events, we have taken part to conferences in other cities and we have hosted the second Greek FOSS Communities Meeting in our school (of which we are all very proud!), all of the above being more than successful. This team is now considered one of the most important parts of my School.
  • the Greek Gentoo Community. This is a newly created team which main goal being to promote Gentoo in Greece. We plan to achieve this by centralizing our Gentoo-based work in our website, translate the magnificent Gentoo Documentation, organize meetings for old members and newcomers, and last but not least, work on the distro itself by providing patches. Keep in mind that 6 Greek Gentoo users are also official Gentoo Developers, while many others are active in bugzilla.
  • Gentoo Development. Since February 2009 I am an official Gentoo Developer, member of the KDE and Qt Teams. Our goal is to provide up-to-date KDE/Qt packages to Gentoo Users, and make sure they build/work flawlessly. We provide not only official KDE/Qt Releases, but also a wide variety of live ebuilds (which means that they checkout the code directly from upstream’s SCM), which takes the meaning of “bleeding edge” one step further! I am also responsible for the Gentoo KDE Guide. You can check my latest commits in cia.vc, the KDE Bugs and the Qt Bugs in Gentoo bugzilla.
